A comfortable, well-equipped flat with heavenly views of Budle Bay

I'll forever judge holiday homes against this wonderful view - swans, herons, waders galore and an outlook that changes minute by minute with the tide and the light. You could spend all day just looking out the window! The flat is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped, with the added bonus of a garden, viewing platform and adorable jetty room (which we didn't use as we had such lovely sunshine). The area is perfect for trips to Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and beyond, as well as coastal walks - if you can just tear yourself away from the view! Tracy was a helpful and responsive hostess and we would return to her flat in a heartbeat.

Luxury Apartment overlooking Budle Bay

The apartment is in a wonderful location and has everything you could wish for, nice comfortable furniture, well appointed kitchen and designated parking area. The apartment is n the first floor, but there is even a lift! There are wonderful views over Budle Bay and there is even a second building which is directly at the side of the Bay and is for the exclusive use of the occupants of the apartment. There is also a communal games room. We could not fault this apartment and would recommend it to anyone looking for holiday accommodation on the Northumberland Coast. Ideal for Bird Watchers!
Fantastic views - lovely apartment

The apartment is on the first floor of this converted watermill complex, reached by a lift, with ample parking adjacent to the entrance. Both the shared access space and the apartment are spotlessly clean, and very light and airy. The apartment is extremely well equipped, actually going beyond the description we had on booking, with an air fryer, and Nespresso type coffee machine as well as the usual appliances. Full instructions are in the flat. The main seating area has extremely comfortable sofas and a recliner (if you like that sort of thing) and a large dining table with views over picturesque budle bay. The view is the real star of the show, with swans (of course), waders and other water birds, swifts and swallows. The sun sets directly behind the further edge of the bay giving excellent photo opportunities! Bamburgh, Seahouses and Belford are all in easy reach for shopping, with the ancient market town of Alnwick just a few miles further. The view is so good from the flat we didn't use the provided Jetty Cottage, which is on the burn that runs past the mill, and gives a closer view of the bay. There is a shared games room, so younger visitors are well catered for. There's also a large selection of DVDs and board games in the flat, and the smart Freeview TV gives access to Netflix and catch-up TV. We loved Swan Bay and have already booked to return, which is really the ultimate test!
Fabulous apartment
By Janice Jones on 06-Sep-2025We really enjoyed our stay in Swan Bay. The apartment is fully equipped with anything you might require to cook a meal or lots of places nearby to eat. Very comfortable accommodation furnishings ,beds etc . The sea view is lovely and changing all the time marvellous for watching the sea birds. Location is perfect for walking. Can’t wait to come back
