It’s so relaxing here in Beadnell, it’s hard to know how to tell you! I’m sure you can see that Captain Jack’s is just fabulous, either as your own escape or for your family, but let me tell you what can be found nearby.
You really can walk to the beach, passing the newly refurbished village shop on the way, with its brand new café.
Just around the corner from Captain Jack’s is The Courtyard, perhaps for the perfect breakfast. Just further on is The Craster Arms, opposite The Salt Water Café, and if you fancy fine dining, Beadnell Towers is just there too! You might leave quite full!
At the other end of Beadnell is The Landing Café, and this is just next to the harbour beach where it’s all action for swimmers, wind surfers, divers in the bay, and lots of sandcastles!
If you feel like leaving Beadnell for a while, Seahouses is just to the north, but a bit further north takes you to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. And yet to the south there is Dunstanburgh Castle. If you look for Howick Sands on some kind of magic map you can park there and do the beautiful coastal walk past The Bathing House, and then on to Craster and Dunstanburgh – I challenge you! And the little bay at Howick is great for a swim.
Not much further are the beautiful Alnwick Gardens, and beyond, well, the whole of Northumberland. It’s really something, and we would love to welcome you!

A beautiful little haven right in the heart of Beadnell
By Dorothy on 09-Sep-2026The cottage is very well appointed - great attention to detail and nothing forgotten. It's central to the village, within walking distance of the beach, the chip van and the pub - what more could you want. Very clean, with a welcome pack, and a small outdoor space to sit in weather permitting.
A first visit to Northumberland
By Kenneth on 06-Sep-2026It was our first visit to Northumberland and we enjoyed Beadnell and the surrounding areas and we will be back again to visit in the future and to further explore the area.
Great Stay
By Darrell on 02-Sep-2026This lovely cottage is so clean. Well equipped even a bus timetable & places to visit pamphlet's. (Very thoughtful) Parking space and a short walk to the beach. Jack & Sarah are very prompt when answering any questions. Really enjoyed our stay here.
A lovely holiday let
By Margaret on 30-Aug-2026We had a lovely stay at Captain Jack’s. Can really recommend it. A real home from home. Nice and clean. The bedding was super clean and fresh as were the towels. Plenty of crockery and utensils. The owners obviously put a good deal of thought in kitting out the property. A nice touch was the welcome pack.

Lovely cottage
By Claire on 09-Aug-2026Lovely clean cottage in a great location, it was our first family holiday so we didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Captain Jack's were very thoughtful they left a lovely welcome basket & even a little present for our youngest daughter as it was her birthday during our stay.
