Puddle Duck Cottage is beautifully presented, with a contemporary interior, a deceptively large, light cottage with high ceilings, yet keeping it's charm with a inglenook fireplace, and log burner for cosy nights in after a days exploring.
It has it’s own private drive with free parking and private secure garden, the rear garden has a lawn area and lovely large patio, with table and chairs by the BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining and directly accessed from the kitchen or lounge.
We provide guests with a truly home from home holiday experience, in a tranquil and peaceful location next to the River Severn at Jackfield. The cottage is located along the Wrekin Way footpath, providing our guests with direct access to traffic free scenic walks and cycle trails to enjoy during their stay.
The majority of our guests park their car up for the duration of their stay because everything is accessible on foot, meaning a truly relaxing break when you stay with us.
There’s a great choice of places for guests to enjoy a bite to eat and drink, whether that be fine dining at a local restaurant, coffee, and homemade cake at one of the cafés or the perfect pint with a pub lunch at the many local hostelries which are all only a short walk away. The Maws Craft Centre is only a 5-minute walk away where you will find a lovely collection of local artisans and home to the Tile Press Café, serving delicious breakfasts and lunches, guests of Puddle Duck Cottage receive a 10% discount on purchases.

We visited as a family ranging from mid 20s to 70s and had family staying in a pub nearby in their 80s. The location was perfect for everyone. The walks were largely on the flat and so many lovely local places for those less able to do longer more strenuous walks. The pubs are fantastic and the food fabulous. The cottage garden is beautiful, and our spaniels had a blast, we will be back!

Always scrupulously clean and with a welcoming lounge, well equipped kitchen, comfy bedrooms and a powerful shower, Puddleduck Cottage is a home from home. There are great dog walks from the door and Ironbridge itself is a manageable 20 mins or so walk away. So many dog friendly pubs also within walking distance and dog friendly attractions a short drive away. And now the National Trust has taken over all 10 attractions within the Gorge NT members will not be short of things to do. Sonia is an attentive host without being overbearing and the wine, cake and grocery essentials - and dog treats and toys - are a lovely touch. I recommend the cottage time and time again to friends and family and visit as often as I can. Puddle Duck Cottage is a little gem for people and dogs alike.

We love the log fire and the cottage has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, including a lovely welcome pack from Sonia. Each year we've traditionally climb The Wrekin for New Year and had lots of walks in the surrounding areas. The cottage is dog friendly and garden is safe and secure. We would definitley recommend a stay at Puddle Duck Cottage!

My family and our 2 dogs love it here. So, family and dog friendly, walks on your doorstep, great pubs for food and drink close by. Sonia the owner cannot do enough for you. Fully recommended and a 10/10 experience.
The cottage is lovely, everywhere was exceptionally clean & smelt nice, & in a wonderful location.

The rooms are tastefully decorated & very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped & I was happy to cook! The garden space, seating & BBQ all excellent. This is a proper dog friendly cottage & safe garden. I would absolutely recommend the cottage & we hope to visit again. Thank you for the welcome pack. Without a doubt the best holiday cottage we have stayed in, happy to give it 5 stars.
We have stayed in plenty of cottages but we think this one is the best by far.
By Emily Everard on 05-Jun-2026We booked our 5th stay quickly and easily, with rapid communication via email. This time we had two friends with us and we found ample space for us all and our 2 dogs. The cottage is so clean and has everything you need for self catering. Everything is well laid out and plenty of space. We found the living space very comfortable and it was lovely to walk onto the spacious patio. It was convenient to have a huge space to relax in, along with plenty of room for two dogs and their necessities. Our bedrooms and bathrooms were just what you need, comfortable and clean. We found the additional shower and bathroom downstairs really useful when 4 people are getting ready in the morning. We enjoyed eating in but also we are so near the most amazing pubs and restaurants, short walks away. We love walking and taking our dogs to the pubs and found a new place open this time, which we thought was fantastic. Most days we set off with our dogs on some local walks, which abound from the doorstep. There was one wet morning we spent at the RAF museum, a short drive away. Other than that we didn’t use the car which is so relaxing. Sonia our host is so welcoming and friendly, we just want to keep returning here so we have already booked another stay this year and also next year. When the cottage says they are dog friendly, it truly means it, had a lovely pack of treats, towels and bowls, along with covers for the sofas. We have stayed in plenty of cottages but we think this one is the best by far.
