Description
Completed in 2016 this barn conversion which sleeps 4 has underfloor heating downstairs with radiators upstairs all supplied by a ground source heat pump and a solar thermal hot water system.The front door opens into a spacious kitchen and dining area with a large feature window allowing natural light to flood in. There is a separate triple aspect lounge.
Down stairs toilet and wash basin. Upstairs the master bedroom has a 6 foot super king sized bed with en suite bathroom with separate large shower, basin, toilet and heated towel rail.
The second bedroom is a twin room with en suite shower, basin and toilet.
This is an ideal cottage for visitors looking for a relaxing break in scenic countryside.
There are footpaths from the farm including one to the local pub which serves meals.
Cycles can be hired on the farm for the more adventurous.
What to do in the area.
Take a tour of Whittakers Distillery at Dacre Banks (3 miles)
Book a LLama Trek or experience at Wilsill (5 miles)
National trust properties in the area include Brimham Rocks within 4 miles and Fountains abbey 11 miles away.
Spend a day in Harrogate and visit RHS Harlow Carr garden and treat yourself to a meal at Betty`s cafe on site
Go for a walk around numerous Yorkshire water reservoirs including Fewston,Thruscross,Swinsty and Scar House
Go star gazing in the Nidderdale National Landscape.

Perfect cottage for small family
By Guest on 30-Oct-2026We had a very enjoyable stay. The property is in a great location for exploring the area, with many attractions within easy reach. During our visit we enjoyed trips to Harrogate, Bolton Abbey, Fountains Abbey, Saltaire and Haworth. The cottage is situated in a peaceful farm setting just off from the main courtyard, making it a quiet and relaxing place to stay. It was warm, clean and well maintained throughout. The beds were comfortable, and the showers were excellent. Having two ensuite bathrooms and a third WC was very handy. The owners were friendly, helpful and quick to respond whenever we had a question, such as how to turn the radiators on upstairs. We were also impressed by the amount of clothes storage available, which is better than in most holiday properties of a similar size. The house was quite spacious for only having two bedrooms. The only improvement we would suggest is providing a little more cutlery and crockery, as we tended to run out before the dishwasher was full. Aside from that, everything was very good and we would happily stay again.
An Idyllic stay in the Yorkshire Dales
By Guest on 20-Sep-2026Barney's Cottage was all we had hoped for, and more. Spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean in heart of the Yorkshire countryside. The cottage is ideally located, just a short distance from many excellent attractions including Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate and Bolton Abbey. There are also many small attractive villages close by with fascinating walks, spectacular scenery and local pubs to explore. The next time we are visiting North Yorkshire Barney's Cottage will be our first choice of residence.
Relaxing Break
By Guest on 20-Sep-2026The family were very welcoming and the home made goodies were fabulous. It was a perfect location for regular days out, without having to drive too far. Everything was clean, and had everything you would need for a self catering holiday, and very comfortable. We will definitely be recommending Barney's Cottage and hopefully will be coming back.

By Guest on 12-Jul-2026We had a wonderful week in Barney’s Cottage. It was comfortable, homely and in just the right location for what we planned to do. We visited Coldstone Cut, Brimham Rocks, Harlow Carr, Ilkley and involved in lovely ice cream from Birchfield Farm just down the road.
