Description
There is parking for one car on the driveway and street parking. A large, well equipped fitted dining kitchen on the ground floor, with patio doors to a paved terrace area.Upstairs is a large landing with a desk and seating, a large sitting room with tv and an electric stove and comfortable seating, with lovely views to the White Horse on the Hambleton Hills. All three bedrooms have double beds and en suite bathrooms.
Easingwold is the nearest small town (about 3 miles away) with plenty of shops, cafes, pubs, takeaways, banks, Friday market etc.
There are many good pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area for those in need of a rest from cooking. The village pub is the Plum and Partridge . Visitors also like the Durham Ox at Crayke, The Fauconberg at Coxwold, The Carlton Inn at Carlton Husthwaite, The Abbey Inn at Byland Abbey, The Stapylton Arms at Wass and the Old Black Bull at Raskelf - all a few miles drive. The property has a wide selection of brochures of places of interest to visit.
Colton Loft is a perfect base for exploring North Yorkshire, the lovely countryside, historic homes and gardens and beautiful city of York. Suitable for couples or families, only a 20 minute drive from York. It is a no-smoking property. One well behaved dog by prior arrangement only, but patio area is not fully enclosed, so dogs will need supervision.

Quiet & Homely
By Grace on 05-Sep-2026Homely place, very quiet. Well equipped kitchen. Place had everything we needed. Comfy beds, good showers. There are pIenty of attractions to explore locally and not too far to visit the Dales or the Coast. Very much enjoyed our stay.
a week in yorkshire
By Camilla Winther on 01-Aug-2026We spent 7 days in yorkshire in Husthwaite. It was a very nice and cosy house with a beatiful view from the garden and rooms upstairs. Evety room had a bathroom whivh our three adult sons loved. I can only recommend this place. Everyting worked out with the owner and we got all the informations that we needed well in advance. Nice place to stay
By Linda Swann on 21-Aug-2026Property was very nice . It is a dog friendly cottage , but the garden has a veg garden which also adjoins the property next door . So dogs can get out through this area into there garden . So I think this should be made aware to people staying at the property . Also maybe they could possibly think about updating the TV & system .
Lovely stay
By Geoff Bacon on 23-Jul-2026A lovely property in a very nice part of the country. 3 great en suite bedrooms - ideal for 3 generations. Excellent upstairs lounge with fantastic views. The house had everything needed for a relaxing stay. Nice pub in the village and good farm shop very nearby. Good communication from the host and Yasmina was kind enough to send on my sunglasses which I had left behind!
Idyllic stay in lovely home and beautiful surroundings
By Luiz Vieira and Rebecca Engel on 10-May-2025We had an outstanding few days in the beautiful, very clean, organised and well-appointed loft with a wonderful garden and great views of the lovely countryside, The loft is in a very quaint and quiet village. One could hardly wish for a better gateway to York or the Yorkshire countryside, including outstanding gastro-pub dinning options. We highly recommend trying the rhubarb digestive, if available. We were very fortunate to have had excellent weather throughout. We look forward to staying at there again.
A wonderful 5 days at Colton Loft
By Ian Creer on 09-May-2025Welcoming, comfortable and beautiful accomodation adjoining a delightful garden with panaramic views across unbroken countryside to the Kilburn White Horse. It was a perfect setting blessed by fantastic weather. We took every opportunity to visit the moors and the coast, stopping at some great pubs on the way. Hope to return!
