The Dairy is the perfect retreat for couples wishing to spend quality time together and ideal for special occasions. In the rural idyll of Newbiggin in Bishopdale, just 1 mile from the stunning Aysgarth Falls, Wensleydale, The Dairy spaciously accommodates 2 people and, the cottage all being on the ground floor, it is also accessible for guests with mobility, hearing and visual requirements. If you need the accessibility support and equipment, they are there. But if not, they simply disappear.. Just like a top hotel, nothing is too much trouble & no detail overlooked. With wood burning stove, EVCP, pillow & duvet menu, welcome tray and personal recommendations of walks, attractions & eateries. The Dairy has its own unique appeal ... as individual as you."Our aim is to ensure you feel at home, whether you are coming for the first time, or returning for the tenth. We will happily take you to one of our personally recommended pubs or restaurants for that special occasion, even on Christmas Day, or just simply recommend a suitable walk - our pleasure is ensuring yours. Exceeded even our high expectations
By Mr W. Router on 09-Aug-2026We have stayed with Diane and Andrew in different cottages on two previous occasions and were expecting their usual high standards but the Dairy even exceeded these. The quality of the accommodation was outstanding throughout and the idyllic location absolutely perfect to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We also loved sitting in their wonderful garden whilst watching them do all the work! It was without doubt one of the best holidays we have ever had. We are booked again for next year and the year after!!
A lovely break
By Mrs G. Wright on 03-Aug-2026This was our first stay at The Dairy and we have already booked a return visit! A beautifully adapted cottage in a tranquil location. My husband who is a stroke survivor felt completely comfortable and looked after. The well laid out gardens are gorgeous and you could have a relaxing break without going off the property if you wished. The owners, Diane and Andrew, are so kind and helpful. As a carer it gave me confidence knowing they were there if needed. Highly recommended.
Another great stay at The Dairy
By Mrs A Molton on 19-Aug-2026Enjoyed a 3 night break at the Dairy which was excellent, we enjoyed home from home comfort which is painstakingly provided by Diane and Andrew who work exceptionally hard to make sure their guests enjoy their stay, “ home from home comfort” takes effort behind the scenes and this couple excels at this. Everything is to an exceptionally high standard and the quality of the surroundings is top notch, the gardens are lovely and provide a tranquil setting. Having stayed in many holiday cottages this one is truly stand out and head and shoulders above the rest.
Perfect cottage for a disabled person and partner

The owners provide us with a profile bed for the disabled person plus a hoist which if we hadn’t had we would have struggled. We have the perfect bathroom which has a wheel in shower. They even provide the shower chair. The location is also perfect. The owners also provide lots of information on suitable locations for wheelchair user to visit. The Cottage is about 9 miles from Leyburn which has a few accessible shops to enjoy browsing round. This is our tenth year and have booked in for the following two years.
Perfect for disabled
