THE SPACE
This stylish and exceptionally comfortable cottage may appear traditional from the outside, but once you step inside Potters Cottage, you will immediately feel at home. The interior beautifully blends contemporary design with classic charm, thanks to the dedicated efforts of owner Lisa, who has meticulously crafted a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The open-plan living and dining area is bright and airy, featuring a comfortable sofa and chairs arranged around a delightful log burner, perfect for cosying up on chilly Yorkshire evenings. A smart TV and DVD player are also available, ideal for enjoying your favorite films after a day of exploring the hidden wonders of North Yorkshire.
The kitchen, seamlessly connected to the dining area, is thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials for a memorable stay, including an oven, hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine, and microwave. An espresso coffee machine adds a touch of luxury for those leisurely mornings as you plan your day.
Ascend the staircase to discover the first of three enchanting bedrooms. The Purple Room, located at the front of the property, offers views of the picturesque main street. Adorned with a plush double bed, soft pillows, and a sumptuous duvet, this room promises a restful night’s sleep.
Across the landing, you will find the pièce de resistance of bathrooms. This recently renovated sanctuary features a large freestanding bath, a separate walk-in shower, and a beautiful bowl sink, all nestled within stunning interiors.
A charming staircase leads to the additional two bedrooms. The Blue Room boasts a delightful window seat that provides expansive views over Pickering, complemented by a Velux window that floods the room with natural light—perfect for stargazing! This room features equally comfortable twin beds. Connecting through a joining door is the third bedroom, the Pink Room. This elegantly designed space, adorned with exquisite interiors, features a king-size bed and captivating views from the front of the property. The soft color palette from Farrow & Ball creates a warm and inviting ambiance.

Location: THE LOCAL AREA
Potters Cottage is extremely centrally located within Pickering. Just a two-minute walk to the North York Moors Railway, along with the town centre, where you will find a lovely selection of local shops, bars, coffee shops, gift shops, banks, PO and supermarkets. Keen walkers will find an array of local walks from the cottage along with many starting just a short drive away.

We are a short distance away from many lovely places to visit including the East Coast- Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Thornton-le-dale; with the cottage lying on the very edge of the North York Moors. (Gateway to the North York Moors). The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is only a 2-minute walk from the cottage and takes you direct to Whitby. Travelling across the beautiful scenic North York Moors. (Dogs can also travel with you at a small additional cost).
We lie a short drive from Eden Camp, Dalby Forest and Flamingo Land. Helmsley (a beautiful market town) is a 20–25-minute drive where you can join the Cleveland Way walking trail, visit Helmsley Castle and the beautiful Walled Garden, or enjoy mooching around the lovely shops. Sutton Bank is only a short drive away and perfect for mountain biking or to watch the Gliders taking off. Idyllic Hovingham, holds an excellent monthly food market along with local weekly markets held at many towns to include Pickering, Helmsley, KirbyMoorside, Thirsk. York is in very close proximity either by car or you can travel on the Coastline bus direct from Pickering.

We are surrounded by wonderful places to dine out here such as in the villages of Olstead and Harome, which are each a short drive away or more locally Pickering hosts an array of lovely eating houses along with take away premises.
