A very special cottage

By Wendy & Ian Davies on 18-Aug-2026

What a surprising little cottage - beautifully decorated with delightful colour schemes and spotlessly clean. Ideally placed for the bus route between Whitby and Scarborough and for walking the old railway track and the coastal paths. We enjoyed Dalby Forest and the Go Ape adventure and the Dalby Forest Drive back to Cloughton. Do look out for a market stall outside Blackwood in the village of Bickley on the forest drive for lovely homemade produce. A trip to Nunnington Hall (National Trust) was great on a wet day. Our thanks to Liz and Mike for their friendly and discreet help throughout.

Liz is a lovely friendly person, her holiday let is immaculate everything you need is there. We came 4 years ago and it was central to the places we wanted to see. We went as far as Saltburn and visited the places along that part of the coast and went to Hackness to visit a friend this time, the roads are very good. We will come again but I not sure when it a lovely part of UK
