Description
Ar Tearmann cottage is the perfect island escape. It is situated in Sleat, only five minutes from the ferry terminal at Armadale (a short 30-40 min. crossing to Mallaig).South-east facing, with panoramic views over the bay towards Mallaig, Loch Nevis, Loch Hourn and the Knoydart hills, this fully renovated cottage sleeps four, in two double bedrooms. Up to two well-behaved dogs are also very welcome, at no extra charge.
Ar Tearmann has a large, sunny, fully enclosed garden, with paved terraces and furnished patio areas with a gas barbecue for you to enjoy.
There is a Voltshare untethered 7kW, Type 2 connector, pay-as-you-go electric vehicle charger at the property. Cars can be charged either through the voltshare app or app-less.
Inside, the cottage is very well equipped and cosy, with underfloor heating throughout and a wood burning stove in the open plan kitchen / dining / living room.
Bedroom one has a superking zip and link divan bed and an en-suite shower room with monsoon shower. Bedroom two has a kingsize bed and there is second bathroom, with monsoon shower and bath. Both bedrooms have patio doors onto the front terrace so that the view of the bay is always with you. Hairdryers are also provided.
The open plan kitchen area is well equipped, with a full range of NEFF, Bosch and Smeg electrical appliances, utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the entrance area, along with a separate shower for dogs.
Wifi connection is around 18Mpbs, mobile phone reception is reasonable and there are plenty of USB charging points throughout the cottage. There is a 49” Smart TV, DVD and CD player with radio and Bluetooth, along with a selection of board games, maps, books and information folders to browse.
For your comfort, the heating is thermostatically controlled from each room. And, from laundering the linen to showering the dog we hope that we’ve taken care of every eventuality.

Weekly bookings are from Friday – Friday. Arrival is any time after 4pm and there is a key safe, so no pressure to be there at a set time. Departure by 9am to allow sufficient time to clean between guests. Prices include all electricity, heating, bed linen, towels, a Welcome Pack for humans and one for their canine companions. The cottage is also well equipped with cleaning materials, laundry powder, etc., so you really only need to bring your clothes.

Stunning property in glorious surroundings
By Guest on 31-Jul-2026We’ve stayed in many holiday cottages over a number of years and Ar Tearmann is most definitely in the premier league. We knew the area, and adore the Sleat Peninsula, which many pass through when heading north from Armadale. It’s peaceful with glorious views and the friendliest locals. The cottage was absolutely perfect. We expected it to be good, but it surpassed our expectations. The high position offered lovely views across to the mainland. It was immaculately presented, could not be cleaner (huge thanks to the housekeeper) and very stylish. The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked every day. The beds were super-comfy and the showers hot and powerful. We wanted for nothing and even the weather didn’t let us down. Each day it took us until lunch-time to head out as we felt so chilled and relaxed. Our cockapoo was able to play in the beautiful garden, and loved running around the cottage at speed. It was so nice to feel he was in such a safe environment. We would love to stay again some time. It’s a very special place. The owner was very responsive and the treats to welcome us were much appreciated. Thanks for letting us share your little piece of paradise.

All facilities provided are high end also the upgrade in the sitting/dining area was brilliant. Thanks for the welcome pack also. The wine was fab. Hoping to be back next year. By Guest on 28-Jun-2026The cottage was lovely, no need for anything superbly equipped and good location really enjoyed the Welcome pack , very thoughtful and appreciated, enjoyed the views from the cottage and Ardvasar is a good place to stay , managed to get to Mallaig and get the train to Fort William , it was lovely day out, also if you wish and like scenic train journeys it might be worth going from the Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness , by train , it’s so scenic, well worth the trip , lastly staying on the Sleat peninsula is good, you can get to a lot of places quite easily , and driving on Skye is very pleasant.not to much fuss
Beautiful cottage on Skye
By Guest on 22-Jun-2026Just returned from a week in this beautiful cottage in Skye. It was a real home from home with a touch a luxury added in. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could ever need. The garden is beautiful and fully enclosed which our dog loved. And the stand alone dog shower at the entrance was a god send for mucky paws after a walks. It’s a 25 minute drive for Broadford but the village has a shop, petrol station, cafe and hotel which serves fabulous food. I’d highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a peaceful break with a touch of luxury in Skye.

Very clean and welcoming with amazing views across the sea back to the mainland. Since our first visit the cottage has been remodelled to enhance the lounge area, which makes it very homely and comfortable. Lots of outdoor space to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We would highly recommend this cottage , one of the best we’ve stayed in.
