Description
Penroc is a charming miner’s cottage recently renovated to include a sun lounge and balcony with magnificent views of the Ystwyth valley. It is in the delightful village of Cwmystwyth, surrounded by beautiful countryside with lovely walks in all directions. Penroc is a short drive from Devil’s Bridge and Aberystwyth.The cottage has one twin bedroom and a double bedroom with adjoining balcony which allows you to appreciate the beautiful view across the valley. There is a bathroom with bath. Downstairs there is one large room with a well-equipped kitchen area along one wall, a large sun lounge with double glazed picture windows and a cosy seating area around an attractive flame-effect electric stove.
The kitchen has all you need for your stay, including a fridge, 3 drawer freezer, microwave and electric oven with hob. Online deliveries are available from Morrisons, Asda or Tesco.
Pillows, duvets and electric blankets, sheets and towels are provided. Heating is night storage supplemented by a flame-effect electric stove. Underfloor heating in the living area is available on request.
If you require more bedrooms and a second bathroom, there is a connecting sound proofed door to the adjoining cottage. When unlocked, you can enjoy a total of two double bedrooms and three twin bedrooms with plenty of space for ten people. For details see our other property Ty Mari on our website.
There is a separate fenced garden area for each cottage with space for cars, sunbathing and a barbecue.

Perfect location
By Roos & Eric on 01-Aug-2026Lovely quiet cottage with roof terrace. Justin is a great host: good communication and we even could check-in a bit earlier (cleaning lady left us a note). It’s the perfect location for exploring Hafod (we did a nice walk) and the beautiful Elan valley (spent a whole day exploring and hiking around one of the lakes). If you drive from the cottage to the visitor center, make sure you take the mountain road. Amazing views! Thanks Justin for a wonderful stay!!

A wonderful place to stay
By Barbara on 01-Jun-2026Penroc cottage is a wonderful place to stay, peaceful and relaxing. The views from the balcony are beautiful. The place is very well equipped and Justin is a great communicator, quick to respond and very informative. It is a place I would return to.
Fabulous time

Extremely comfortable beds, wonderful cooking facilities, and lovely relaxing area for TV, DVDs, reading and playing games. Breath-taking views all around, and fabulous walks done every day. We have also been blessed with the best of summer weather! A wonderful stay, thank you
