Fig Tree Cottage is a peaceful, dog-friendly cottage for up to five guests, set above the Conwy Valley with panoramic views towards Eryri (Snowdonia). It is single-storey throughout and has flexible sleeping arrangements, two patio areas, its own private hot tub and access to a heated 11-metre indoor pool shared only with guests staying in neighbouring Laurel Cottage.

INSIDE FIG TREE

The open-plan living, kitchen and dining area is arranged around the view. Sliding glass doors open onto the patio, bringing the Conwy Valley and mountains into the main living space. There is comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a dining table for five.

The kitchen includes a full-height fridge-freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and Nespresso machine, with starter tea, coffee and kitchen essentials provided.

BEDROOMS

The main bedroom has a king-size bed and a full-length window overlooking the garden.

The second bedroom has zip-and-link beds, normally arranged as twin singles. They can be made into a super-king if requested in advance. A convertible chair bed provides sleeping space for a fifth guest.

A travel cot and high chair can be provided by prior arrangement. Guests need to bring their own cot bedding.

BATHROOM AND ACCESS

The bathroom has a double-ended bath and a separate shower cubicle. The shower has a raised tray requiring a small step up, and the bath requires stepping over the side.

Fig Tree is single-storey with no internal steps, although it is not fully wheelchair adapted. Doorways have a minimum clear opening of 750mm, and external doors have standard thresholds. Please contact us before booking if anyone in your party has specific access requirements. We can provide further measurements and photographs.

PRIVATE HOT TUB AND OUTSIDE SPACE

Fig Tree has two patio areas. One has outdoor dining furniture and the cottage’s private hot tub. The second has seating for relaxing outside. Both look across the Conwy Valley towards the mountains.

The hot tub is for Fig Tree guests only and is available 24 hours a day throughout the year. Children under six are not permitted in the hot tub, and those aged six to fifteen must be supervised.

Beyond the patios is a shared one-acre garden. The patios are unfenced and the garden should not be treated as fully enclosed. Rural stock fencing forms much of the boundary, but the driveway gate leading on to a quiet country lane is usually left open for ease of access.

THE INDOOR POOL

The heated indoor pool is just across the courtyard and is reserved solely for guests staying in Fig Tree and Laurel. It is not open to the public and is shared between no more than the two cottages. At quieter times guests often find they have it to themselves, although this cannot be guaranteed.

The pool is 11 metres long, heated year-round and available 24 hours a day, with no booking slots or closing time. It has a constant depth of 1.5 metres throughout and no shallow end. Entry is by a four-step ladder with handrails and there is no lifeguard. Children under sixteen must be supervised by a competent adult at all times.

Please bring separate towels for the pool and hot tub.

DOGS

Up to two dogs are welcome at £35 per dog, per stay, and must be booked in advance.

Dogs must not be left unaccompanied in the cottage or garden and are not permitted on beds or soft furnishings. Because the driveway gate is normally left open, dogs prone to wandering or chasing livestock will need close supervision and may need to remain on a lead outside. Sheep graze in the surrounding fields.

SHARED FACILITIES

A shared laundry room in the courtyard has a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board, drying rack, books and games.

The shared EV charging point is a tethered 7kW Type 2 unit, operated by Voltshare on a pay-as-you-go basis. The cable is provided. Charging is shared with Laurel and is available on a first come, first served basis.

Parking for two cars is provided for Fig Tree.

A PEACEFUL BASE FOR NORTH WALES

Fig Tree has a rural position on the edge of the Bodnant estate, but it is well placed for exploring the Conwy Valley, coast and Eryri.

• RSPB Conwy: 20 minutes
• Betws-y-Coed: 24 minutes
• Llandudno and the Great Orme: 28 minutes
• Ogwen Valley and Cwm Idwal: 40 minutes
• Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Pen-y-Pass: 45 minutes

The approach is by a quiet single-track road with passing places.

NEED SPACE FOR A LARGER GROUP?

Laurel Cottage next door sleeps four. The two cottages can be booked together for groups of up to nine, giving everyone separate bedrooms, kitchens and living spaces while sharing the pool and garden. When both cottages are booked together, the pool is for that group’s exclusive use.
