Description
Ty Cerrig (which means stone cottage/house) is the perfect base for exploring . This three-bedroomed detached cottage is set on the edge of the semi-rural village of Gwalchmai, just 10 minutes' drive from the nearest beaches (Rhosneigr and Aberffraw). It is suitable for couples, families and welcomes (not just tolerates) dogs of all shapes and sizes.Inside Ty Cerrig
On the ground floor there is a comfortable, spacious lounge and huge log burner, perfect for cosy afternoons and cooler evenings. French doors open from the lounge onto the enclosed patio and garden. There is a well equipped kitchen with dining table (for 6), plus separate seating area (which can double as a workspace if you’re ‘WFH’!). There is also a utility room with a washing machine and (heat pump) tumble dryer, plus downstairs loo.
A cast iron spiral staircase links the ground floor to the first floor where there are three bedrooms. All of the bedrooms look out to fields at the front of the house. There is a large master bedroom (king size bed) with ensuite (walk-in shower), a second double bedroom (king size bed) and a twin room. There is a family bathroom with walk-in shower and a freestanding bath.
Family-friendly facilities
A high chair, travel cot, folding bed guard and fixed stair gate at the top of the stairs are available. The travel cot is 120 x 60cm and includes a mattress, but cot bedding is not provided.
Outside and practical details
Large enclosed garden and patio and off-road private parking (two spaces). The driveway is gated.
Super dog friendly with a warm water dog wash station, perfect for sandy paws and mucky boots. There are lots of throws, bowls and toys so that you don’t need to worry about bringing those things with you. Please bring your own bedding if you allow dogs in the bedroom/on the bed.
Wild rabbits are sometimes seen in the garden and neighbouring gardens. They generally move away when people or dogs are outside, but guests with dogs with a high prey drive may wish to keep this in mind.
Please note, electric vehicles are not permitted to be charged via the electricity supply.
Exploring Anglesey from Ty Cerrig
Both beaches and mountains are within easy reach of Ty Cerrig. It is 4.5 miles or 10 minutes' drive to Rhosneigr, Porth Trecastell (Cable Bay) and Aberrfaw beaches (all sandy and dog-friendly), where you can join the Anglesey Coastal Path. It is approximately 30 minutes drive to Eryri (Snowdonia) and 45 minutes' to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

Sarra had thought of everything both outside and inside the cottage. The garden was great for the dogs and they enjoyed their holiday as much as we did. We would definitely stay at Ty Cerrig again in the future!

A great central location, peaceful, easy to access, great garden for the dog and well equipped with lots of extras, including a lovely welcome basket of goodies and treats and toys for our dog. Wonderful first holiday
By EG on 10-Sep-2025We had a wonderful first holiday in August! We were blown away by the attention to detail and how beautiful the house was. It was lovely to feel like the dogs were truly welcome! We have never stayed anywhere that so many things have been provided to keep the dogs occupied and happy! Clearly lots of thought and effort has gone into designing such a wonderful home. It is ideally located for all of the wonderful beaches, places to visit and cafés/restaurants. We can’t wait to come back next year! Thanks for such a wonderful holiday… It really was hard to get everybody to leave!
