Tucked away in the peaceful village of Angle, Bluebell Cottage is a cosy, characterful retreat for families, friends and couples alike. A traditional Welsh stone cottage, it is just a 10-15 minute walk from the beautiful sandy beach at West Angle Bay.Spend the day exploring the numerous stunning beaches nearby and coastal path, walk down to West Angle Bay for a swim, or simply relax in the garden with a barbecue and a glass of wine. In the evening, the log burner makes the cottage especially cosy after a day outdoors.
The cottage sleeps up to 7, although if you are a group of adults we recommend it is most comfortable for 6 guests. The fourth bedroom is a single, giving families and groups useful flexibility with sleeping arrangements.
The enclosed rear garden has a lawn, patio, mature shrubs and fruit trees, making it a lovely place for children to play, dogs to enjoy the outdoors and guests to sit down for an alfresco meal.

THE LOCAL AREA
The Village
The quiet village of Angle is situated on a peninsula in the South West corner of Pembrokeshire. The local beach, West Angle Bay, is just 10-15 minutes walk from the cottage and is one of Pembrokeshire's most accessible. Wavecrest cafe at the beach serves fantastic food during the day, The Hibernia Inn just a short stroll from the cottage serves hearty evening meals and if you venture round East Angle Bay you will be treated with great food and coastal views at The Old Point House which has recently been taken over by the award-winning team at Paternoster Farm and is fast becoming a renowned foodie destination.
Beaches
Pembrokeshire's beaches are regularly voted some of the best in the world and with over 50 Blue Flag beaches there are plenty to explore! These are just a few of our favourites:
West Angle Bay
This beautiful, sheltered bay is child-friendly and does not become overcrowded, even in the peak season. The beachside cafe has a superb selection of ice-creams, coffee, cake and lunchtime treats.
Freshwater West
Featured in a number of movies (including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II) this huge sandy beach is popular with surfers. Strong currents here mean it is only for the strongest swimmers, but the extensive sand dunes and rock pools provide plenty of entertainment for the kids. If there are Harry Potter fans amongst you, go in search of Dobby's grave.
Barafundle Bay
You could be forgiven for thinking you are in a tropical location when the sun is shining at Barafundle! Only accessible on foot, half a mile from the National Trust car park at Stackpole Quay, this pristine beach backed by sand dunes and pine trees is glorious at all times of the year and forms part of a lovely circular walk.
Broadhaven South
A visit to Broadhaven South taking in the Lily ponds at Bosherton should not be missed. On entering the beach from the lily ponds you will be met by a large expanse of soft sand and a clean water stream that runs the length of the beach is perfect for small children to play in.
Activity and Adventure
With 186 miles of coastline Pembrokeshire naturally has an enormous variety of water-based adventures to enjoy, including kayaking, coasteering and surfing. If you prefer to keep your feet on dry land then the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path offers an opportunity to enjoy breathtaking scenery and incredible wildlife spotting, whilst the quiet country lanes provide a variety of interesting cycle routes for those on two wheels. Many sporting events are held in Pembrokeshire throughout the year, with one of the highlights being the Iron Man Wales in September, with the cycling leg going right past Bluebell's front door!
Family Attractions
The coastal town of Tenby is a 25 minute drive from the cottage and there are numerous attractions, including Folly Farm, Manor Wildlife Park and Tenby Dinosaur Park nearby.
Castles & Heritage
Pembrokeshire has ancient castles in abundance - Pembroke, Carew and Manorbier Castles to name just a few! Each one is quite different and well worth a visit. Chapel Bay Fort & Museum in Angle explains military technology and weaponry through the ages and another nearby must-visit is St Govan's Chapel, a small 13th Century chapel built into the sea cliff near Bosherton.

Definitely coming back!
By Ella on 31-Dec-2024We all had such a fantastic stay at Bluebell Cottage! Beautiful cottage, that was gorgeously cosy around the Christmas period, and a fantastic location. Morning walk at West Bay beach with the dog every morning. Jo was a fantastic host, incredibly accommodating. Would highly recommend - we will definitely be coming back!
A chilled weekend away
By Karen on 08-Mar-2025The cottage was homely, clean and peaceful, we walked to the pub just down the road to have food, which was lovely. Jo was great with clear instructions. We got in the car to go to other places which weren't far away. Had a very chilled weekend away.
When can we go again!
By Lydia on 31-Mar-2025Oh my goodness, when can we go again! Bluebell Cottage is adorable, a home from home. It was warm and very comfortable - perfect to retreat to after an impromptu swim in the sea! Joanna couldn’t have been more helpful; an information pack before we arrived, very quick to respond and incredibly helpful when we had questions/needed something. It’s perfect for travelling with children as she has everything you need, from books and games to stair-gate and high chair. And a gorgeous garden too! So wonderful to be able to pack more lightly. They really have thought of everything. I love that there were plenty of hooks and drying space for wet things and a great bench for putting on your boots. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The children are desperate to start planning our next visit!
