Tara was build in the 1930's and I try to reflect this in some of the décor as there are splashes of Art Deco furnishings/pottery. Entered from the parking area is the Entrance Porch, Hall with Cloakroom and basin, dual aspect sitting room with comfortable sofas and chairs, TV with Freesat, large patio doors to balcony which runs the entire length of the property enabling one to take full advantage of the views across the beach to the sea, the River Avon, Bantham Beach.and Burgh Island which is now under new ownership and has a great pub which you can get to at High tide by the tractor.
Tara's Dining room is decorated in Art Deco Style with tables and seating for 10 with patio doors to the balcony, adjoining small sun room. Separate WC. Bunk bedroom (with spare mattress under). Well equipped fitted kitchen with electric halogen hob, built-in-eye-level double oven/grill, microwave,a large larder fridge separate under the counter freezer and dishwasher leading to rear lobby with back door, boiler room, shower room. Twin bedroom with sea views . 2nd Floor:- Twin/Double with sea views (pull out divan bed under one of the twin beds), double bedroom king size, a super king bed and ensuite with large shower cubicle and toilet. Separate family bathroom with washbasin & WC plus a Shower Room with large cubicle, washbasin & WC. Double beds are 5ft & 6ft and all twins are 3ft including bunk beds. Ground Floor/basement there is a garage which houses the washing machine and tumble dryer together with an extra fridge. You can access the downstairs playroom which has a table tennis table and pool table with a further lounge with TV (freeview), Outside :- attractive enclosed terraced garden with stone paved patio and covered terrace that runs the entire length of the house. Wide shallow steps lead down to areas of lawn, flower borders, shrubs and mature apple trees. Garden furniture, Barbecue..
The House can accommodate up to 12 people but is just as homely with 2! The "from" rates offered during the shoulder months are up to 6 people. I am sorry I do not take Pets as the house is very large and we just do not have time to do the extra cleaning that is required.
