Dogs allowed on enquiry Boscastle is famous for its beautiful harbour setting, picturesque cottages and quaintness of a Cornish fishing village. It is both a friendly locals' village and a lovely place to stay with plenty of shops, restaurants, garage and excellent pubs that have a great reputation. It is very dog friendly. The National Trust owns large areas around the village with free access for walks around the coastal headlands and inland up the beautiful Valency Valley. Four old churches (including Thomas Hardy's St Juliots) are well worth a visit. Further afield the Camel Trail (cycle track on an old railway) is a great bike ride alongside the estuary to Padstow. There is so much more to explore with Bodmin, the Gardens of Heligan & Eden Project and many castles, museums and historic houses within easy striking distance. Boscastle has an excellent range of shops. The Information centre right on the harbour attached to the National Trust shop as well as a Spar, bakery, green grocer, hairdresser and clothing stores. A village shop is two minutes' walk from the cottage and a farm shop with restaurant and amazing sea views is just on the edge of the village. Fantastic coastline & beaches: the lovely harbour is 10 mins walk down the hill. Some of the best surfing beaches Trebarwith Strand, Polzeath and Watergate Bay are all close by. Many other sandy beaches in the area incl. Crackington Haven and Widemouth Bay/Bude.The local area is full of attractions and activities for visitors including the Camel Trail (cycling), Tintagel Castle, Bodmin Moor/Jamaica Inn, Bodmin Steam Railway, Crealy Adventure Park and many many more.

We found Sharrocks cottage to be quite delightful. The owners say that it is very much 'home from home', and from the care they have taken with it it is very obvious that they love the place. The decor and furnishings are very tasteful throughout, and there are lovely little touches around the place - we loved the tiny penguin (or was it a puffin?) on a high beam in the main bedroom. The bathroom is full of character, as are the three bedrooms; new electric heating made for a cosy stay and the kitchen had everything you could want. There is no garden at the property but the small back yard is pleasant to look out on. Should Cornwall beckon again sometime I think we may be back!

We had a wonderful stay in Sharrock's Cottage in Boscastle over the Easter weekend. We were 5 adults and had plenty of room in this lovely and tastefully decorated 3- bedroom cottage. Everything was perfect, including a welcome pack of milk, cake, biscuits and cider!
Sharrock's Cottage is perfectly situated for exploring Cornwall, being a short stroll from the cliff walk along the coast and an easy drive to many of the points of interest in Cornwall.
Our hosts always promptly replied to any queries we had and had lots of information leaflets and reading material on site.
I highly recommend Sharrock's Cottage as a base for a holiday in Cornwall.
Sharrocks Cottage, Boscastle
By Anders on 27-Oct-2017
What a delightful period cottage! We stayed for a long weekend but wish it had been longer. The cottage has so many features and really has been tastefully and sympathetically renovated. We loved the cosy living room. Those sofas really are ideal to kick back and read the papers. The re-fitted kitchen diner had absolutely everything we needed. The table in the country cottage kitchen was the ideal scene for us to recount the day's activities over a bottle of red! The super-comfy beds were just what the doctor ordered after exploring the north Cornwall coast (and local hostelries).
We found it easy to park, almost opposite, on the side of the road at any time of day.
The location is ideal. Just a few yards up the hill to the Napoleon inn serving excellent food and a great pint. It's also a lovely walk along the village road passing the cottages to the harbour. We loved it and it got full marks from all of us!
Wonderful Time In Boscastle

This cottage was perfect for our family stay in Boscastle. It comfortably slept 6 people and we had everything we needed. It is modern without losing its authentic Cornish cottage feel. The owners made us feel most welcome and I would recommend Sharrocks Cottage to anyone looking for a base to explore the North Coast of Cornwall.

This is a lovely cottage in Boscastle - very clean and comfortable in a great location. It's a 15 minute walk to the harbour and majority of shops / pubs (bit of a steep hill) but also there is a closer pub just 100 yards or so up the road. Cottage has everything needed for a break and has a lovely small courtyard at the back of the house.

I have only positive feedback for this cottage. It's very pretty, spotless and there's nothing you need that isn't provided. Bed linen especially is lovely. Perfectly situated in stunning location. Will definitely be returning

Lovely Well Equipped Cottage
By Elaine N. on 06-Aug-2016
We were impressed with the owners attitude when they were flexible about the start date, allowing us to arrive on Sunday for 7 nights, which other properties had not allowed. When we got there the cottage was perfect, spacious and very well equipped. Ideal base for the coastal path, we didn't need to use our car for most of the week. Great walking from the door and lovely village. The Napolian Inn a few doors away serves good food.
A Lovely Cottage In A Great Location
By Patricia J on 15-Jul-2016
We had a superb holiday in this lovely cottage. We (1 adult and 3 children) booked a half term holiday here at relatively short notice and couldn't have had a better time. The cottage was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and struck a very good balance between the lovely traditional features and modern conveniences. The beds were comfortable with crisp cotton bedlinen, the bedrooms airy and light, the kitchen was excellent and the sitting areas comfortable and cozy. The sun shone and we spent days on the nearby beaches and evenings jumping in to Boscastle Harbour at high tide-great fun! We will be back! Thank you Fi and Bob for allowing us to stay in your superb cottage.

We absolutely loved this cottage. We had such an amazing time with our kids and dogs. It has everything you need and is homely, clean and comfortable. The harbour is a short walk down the hill and you are rewarded with beautiful scenery. There's good crabbing to be had in the harbour and loads of beaches and attractions near by. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

This was our first visit to Sharrocks Cottage in Boscastle. It is a spacious home, with a well -equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The house is suitable for both younger and older children and we made good use of the games room. There is a well-stocked supermarket, a good pub and a bakery within walking distance of the cottage. It is well situated for walking the South West coastal path and there is plenty to do within the surrounding area of Boscastle. We would recommend both the cottage and Boscastle as a great base from which to explore North Cornwall.
