Description

High Barn is an outstanding barn conversion using large beams from 18th century ships. A second barn is used as a large games room with table tennis.

Situated in a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in South Devon, it is just one mile from the spectacularly beautiful and unspoilt Erme estuary. Wonwell beach on the estuary offers vast expanses of sand and is perfect for swimming, paddling and fishing nets at low tide and windsurfing at high tide. Nearby there are more beaches and coves as well as fine cliff top walks. The National Trust path runs along the coast line and crosses the estuary, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, with fascinating birdlife. High Barn sleeps up to 8 adults/children and is privately owned. During the summer it is let on a weekly basis, Friday to Friday. In winter, it is available either for a full week, or for a long weekend. Rates vary from £480 for a three-day winter weekend to £1450 for a week in high summer.

Great Holiday!

By Tim Hamilton on 05-Jul-2024

Just arrived. Beautiful house, very clean and tidy and the sun is out! Low tide in an hour so walk to Wonwell and then over the estuary for a beer at the School House..................We have really enjoyed our two weeks here and hope we may be allowed to come again

Week at High Barn

By Jenny Kinder on 13-Jul-2024

As ever we had a great time. Four grandchildren between the ages of 15 and 24 (plus 2 partners) stayed either at High Barn or with us and we managed to get out between downpours. The games room is a real boon (there were many table tennis tournaments). Its a very lovely place to stay. Here's to the next visit.
