Looe is on the South East coast of Cornwall which is often overlooked by people coming to holiday in Cornwall as they tend to head straight for the North Coast of Padstow, Newquay and St Ives etc. A very popular activity in this area is to walk the South West Coastal Path.
With so many idyllic small bays close by such as Lantic Bay, Lantivet Bay & Whitsand Bay there are plenty to explore enjoying such peace. Many of which are dog friendly.
If beaches are not your thing there are plenty of country houses to visit in the area, the jewels being Lanhydrock and Cotehele. Not forgetting the Eden Project as well. The south coast is steeped in history about smuggling, especially in Polperro and the surrounding area. Bodmin Moor and its historical sites for mining are also well worth a visit.
So if you are looking for a great holiday with stunning beaches, fantastic scenic and peaceful walks, amazing country houses and historic sites to visit but without the crowds then take another look at South East Cornwall. Looe is simply a ‘classic seaside British holiday’ your kids will love the safe sandy beach and the crabs that never seem to tire of being pulled out of the harbour. You’ll love it too because .... your kids do!! ... and because there are plenty of good places to eat and drink for everybody.
