Polzeath, a gem on the North Cornwall Coast.

Polzeath beach, known locally as Hayle Bay, is beautiful, it has a blue flag, is famous for its surf, has 2 surf schools training people from beginners to those who are expert. You don't have to surf of course you can build sand castles, play cricket or football or just lay in the sun, it is lovely.

The village has its shops, post office, surf shops, pub and restaurants, a fish and chip shop and plenty of take aways for coffee, pasties, sandwiches etc
The walks from the Beach can take you North to Port Isaac or south to Padstow. Beautiful walks on the coastal footpaths where you can sit and marvel at the fantastic scenery. Pentire Head is just a 30 minute walk North and its claim to fame is that it is the place where the Armistas day poem was written and of course there is a plaque there to commemorate it.

Walk 3 miles South you can catch the Black Torr Ferry which will take you to Padstow where you will find a beautiful Harbour, lots of quaint shops and lots of Restaurants, Rick Steins Fish Restaurant being probably the most famous. On the way back call into St Enodoch church where Sir John Betuman is buried and just take in the views.

The area has lots of wonderful gardens around, lots of National Trust Houses and of course The Eden Project just 20 miles away.
Good golf courses are plentiful, The Point being the nearest but just 3 miles up the road, the famous St Enodoch course. At the Point there are tennis courts, indoor pool, Gymnasium as well as a good restaurant, plenty for the whole family.

So for a great holiday choose a cottage in Polzeath where there is plenty for everybody to do, a great place for a family holiday.
