The Morpeth Apartment is owned and personally run by us and we've designed it to be a welcoming & comfortable place to stay with the flexibility of a self catering holiday along with owners who try to have thought of everything you may need during your stay.
After a busy day you can put your feet up, plan the next day's adventure or just relax.
Our guests love the combination of the central location and free on site parking which is rare!
The living space is comfortable to relax in and The Morpeth Apartment gives you the privacy & flexibility of your own holiday home rather than being tied to a small hotel room.
The Kitchen
For guests who enjoy the freedom of self catering, you have a fully equipped kitchen with everything from sharp knives that you can actually cut with to coffee maker, a cafetière and yes there's a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge & freezer. Kitchen linens are included.
Don't want to cook? There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to enjoy along with a great selection of real ale/craft beer pubs. Marks & Spencer is on your doorstep along with Cook, a shop that sells beautiful frozen food that you could easily pass of as your own!
Bedrooms
Comfy beds with high quality linens and good lighting to put your make up on. Hairdryer's that reach the mirror. Yes, we've tried to think of everything to make your stay that little bit better.
Bathroom
A luxurious large walk in shower and if you've forgotten a toiletry item, feel free to look in the cupboard and help yourself. Plenty of large towels and bathmats along with facecloths are provided.

Castles & History
We're famous for castles and whether it's Alnwick Castle or Bamburgh Castle or somewhere in-between, you'll find historic sites offering something for adults and children. It's an embarrassment of riches if you are a National Trust or English Heritage member too.
The Morpeth Apartment has been renovated by us, retaining many of the original features and character. Built in 1908 as The Fox and Hounds Hotel, this beautiful 3 storey brick building on Newgate Street now houses The Morpeth Apartment on the second floor.
Secure storage is available for bicycles, paddle boards and golf clubs if needed.
Step out of the apartment and straight into Morpeth town centre with it’s attractive shopping area, bars, restaurants and riverside walks. Guests have access to their own sun terrace on the ground floor.
Guest access
Guests have their own access to The Morpeth Apartment. There is an outdoor sitting area on the side patio for our guests.
Other things to note
We are very happy to accommodate a family but please note that The Morpeth Apartment is situated on the second floor. A travel cot with mattress & bedding and high chair are available in the apartment on request.

Fab apartment and fab location

Thank you for the hamper, we really appreciated that, especially the Adams bakery cakes! So many little touches to make your stay perfect, highly recommend this beautiful, clean and well positioned apartment. Tips for other travellers We had a fabulous meal with friends at the Italian restaurant, Lollo Rosso, great vibe. We used the buses to explore, so convenient to have the bus station a two minute walk away. Fab location for the shops, great to have M&S on your doorstep. Visited Alnmouth and found a great deli for lunch to take to the beach on a beautiful day. Highly recommend The Morpeth Apartment for a relaxing break with everything on your doorstep, enjoy.
A perfect location
By Elliott on 31-May-2026Deb and Pete were wonderful hosts, providing the perfect 2-bedroom apartment for our trip to the Northeast of England. If you have forgotten something Deb has remembered it! A perfect location in the beautiful town of Morpeth. We loved every minute of our stay and will be back! Tips for other travellers Morpeth has so many amenities. A beautiful market town only 15 minutes to Newcastle by train, surrounded in history. Lots of great restaurants, pubs and great shops, and lovely walks along the river and the coast close by. Highly recommend to anyone. We loved our stay and will be back :)

Good to be back
By Williams on 20-Aug-2026Our last visit was a few years ago so it was good to be back and the apartment, its central location, facilities, welcome and welcome pack from the owners is just stunning! Can't wait to come back soon! Tips for other travellers Have seen most of Northumberland over the years visiting family, but this visit included trips to Whitley Bay, Druridge Bay and meals out at Barluga, Lollo Rosso and Sunday lunch at PTMY. All very good!
The apartment is lovely

When we arrived it was so welcoming, everything we could have needed was there and all with friendly notes attached. There were essentials like coffee, tea, milk but also too many treats to mention and the most amazing goodies from the local bakery. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom sparkling clean. Plenty of towels and even a gift for our granddaughter. We just wished we had a few more days there to enjoy the apartment and the town. Tips for other travellers We had a lovely meal at Kaani which was just around the corner. We went to Druridge Bay Beach which was beautiful.
