Filey lies on the Yorkshire Coast midway between Scarborough and Bridlington, it is a sweet, traditional seaside resort, with its sandy beaches, some of which are dog friendly, a historic promenade, fantastic fish and chips and gentle pace of life.
A golden sandy Blue Flag beach and a relaxing seaside holiday cottage awaits in Filey and the North York Moors National Park is a stones throw away. Excellent value caravan and holiday parks are numerous along this beautiful stretch of the Yorkshire coast where you'll find some fantastic coastal walking.
It has a museum and a host of local water sports including fishing, sailing and surfing. Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough are just down the road along one of Britain's Heritage Coasts and feature some of the most spectacular chalk cliffs in the UK. This area is also very famous for its bird wildlife and attracts bird watchers from all over the world.. There is an annual sailing regatta and a Sailing Club on the northern edge of the town.
It is very much a traditional, Victorian seaside resort and is perhaps most famous for the Royal Crescent, built by Birmingham solicitor John Wilkes in 1850 and was billed as the North of England's most fashionable and in-demand addresses for over 100 years.
