The Granary is a converted agricultural building partially built into the hillside made of brick, stone and cob, retaining many original features. The accommodation is set out in reverse order, with the first floor entrance through stable doors into an open plan living room and kitchen. The roof space has been opened up exposing the timbers. A log burning stove is set in the original fireplace, with a large oak lintel. The spacious bathroom is situated between the first and ground floors, it has a double ended bath with shower over. There are two bedrooms downstairs, a double with a king size bed and a twin room with two single beds. Dog friendly, the holiday cottage is a great place to base your Cornish self catering holiday.

Beautiful place to stay

By Paul on 28-Aug-2019

What a lovely place to stay. Really comfortable, beautifully decorated and set out, and situated just right so that everything you'd want to visit is within an easy drive.

A lovely sun-trap courtyard with chairs and tables are an ideal spot to enjoy some late evening warm sun, cold cider and a book.

The lane leading to the barn is very narrow (especially when you meet a tractor coming the other way!) but if you follow the instructions on the website it's dead easy to find. Just breathe in when you get to the narrow bits!

Really good parking directly opposite is a bonus, and there's good shopping close by. Rupert is a great host, discreet but very friendly and happy to help out.

All in all, a great place for a holiday. Would we stay again? You bet.

A great find! Brilliantly located, near to so many places we wanted to visit. The Granary was really well equipped and even had the extras for the beach which came in very handy. Fabulous courtyard for a couple of BBQs in the summer sun. WiFi, TV, games & toys/ books for our toddler - all a fantastic added bonus. Would def recommend as a base for exploring Cornwall!

Delightful choice to make

By Norma on 19-May-2019

This property was so lovely. Clean and very well taken care of, with a very high standard in all aspects. We will definitely return when working in Cornwall and/or a holiday. A bit difficult to find in the dark with several quirks in the satnav including 'roads' marked 'not suitable for motor vehicles' but other routes found up and down delightful lanes. Would highly recommend as a central base from which to see Cornwall. Fish and chips in nearby Newquay and Perranporth an added bonus

Lovely cottage holiday

By Ellen on 15-May-2019

We booked to stay here as a young family of 5 (youngest in a travel cot) for our annual trip to Newquay. The Granary cottage was a fantastic base, the cottage itself was clean and well equipped for a self catering holiday and was in a great location that was quite and out of the way but a short drive into Newquay town itself.

Rupert the owner only lives next door so he came out to greet us on arrival, he was close by if we needed anything but respected our privacy throughout our holiday.

The cottage itself was beautiful and a really lovely place to stay with a nice little woodland walk and a secure courtyard for some outdoor space.

Unfortunately with my youngest requiring a bed next year we will need an extra bed or we would have loved to have returned.

Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage Rupert.

This is a lovely cottage in a very peaceful location. It's also not far from things to do and you can easily get to lots of different places such as Newquay and Truro. The cottage had everything we needed and we felt very much at home.

Aimee

Beautiful barn with a lovely river flowing just outside, nice short walk through the trees too. Mattresses were SO comfy, everywhere clean and tidy, lots of board games, dvd’s and books available. No disruptions, just a really nice home away from home! If I could have located it just a tiny bit closer to the town centre it would be an absolute 10 out of 10! Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and scenic break. Thank you to the host, Rupert.
