Jopes Lodge is a romantic hideaway on the banks of the River Seaton. Originally an artist's studio it has been converted to an extremely high standard to provide luxury open plan accommodation. A key feature is the large (4m x 4m) covered terrace overlooking the River Seaton. This is heated for cooler evenings and is the perfect place to relax - with the sound of the river as a backdrop you might want to spend your whole holiday here!

Inside the Lodge is approximately 8 metres by 4 metres. It features a newly fitted and well equipped kitchen, slate floored bathroom, wood burning stove, smart tv, etc. The double bed has a pocket sprung mattress and hotel quality bedding. There is high quality wooden flooring throughout the living, kitchen and bedroom areas.

Visitors to Jopes Lodge have unlimited private access to 5 acres of riverside gardens and woodland, including 400 meters of the beautiful River Seaton. Whether you want to take a stroll around the many paths and lawns, have camp-fires in the fire pits, or just sit and watch the river go by, this is the perfect setting. At the end of the garden is a 50 metre long waterlily lake which is in bloom through until September.

Jopes Lodge is only 3.5 miles from the beach at Seaton - it's a beautiful walk along the river to the sea. Looe is 10 mins away by car and Polperro 20 mins. Looking inland Bodmin Moor is only 15 mins away. There is a huge range of things to do in the area, from spectacular coastal walks to National Trust houses and gardens. For all its beauty, SE Cornwall is less well known, and less busy, than many other parts of Cornwall.

The Lodge has superfast broadband wifi.

For larger groups the nearby Jopes Mill can be booked at the same time - SimplyOwners reference P217476

Jopes Lodge

We had a lovely relaxing week at Jopes Lodge. We cycled there, so were very pleased to arrive to a roaring fire and a delicious cream tea. Nick and Sally were kind and welcoming and really enthusiastic about the surrounding area. The grounds are lovely and peaceful, with the soundtrack of the babbling stream and birdsong.
We enjoyed a cycle around Bodmin moor to the Jamaica Inn as well as the coastal route to Cawsands. The coast path east and west is lovely and Downderry has a good shop and vegan cafe to pick up provisions for people without a car.
Thanks and good luck with the ongoing project!

Thank you for a warm welcome to Jopes. The Lodge is well equipped, immaculately clean and very comfortable. We were made to feel welcome and well informed. We enjoyed our trip to Looe on the train from Liskeard. Taxis were very good. We had a really relaxing stay and will come again. With regards to feedback we would have liked to stay longer and it would be useful to have a small table or shelf in the bathroom for sponge bags. PS. The bedside tables are superb! The perspex on top of them does slide about. Thank you.

Just returned from a fabulous week staying at jopes lodge . A truly magical place so enchanting ! A lodge by a river . Easy to reach Looe and many other wonderful places . The lodge has a very comfy bed and log burner excellent free supply of logs , easy to use cooker fridge etc . Arrived rather tired and frazzled, after a week staying at jopes lodge refreshed revitalised and happy . Spent an entire day curled up by the fire reading and enjoying good books and the beautiful surroundings . Nick and Sally are friendly lovely people who make the most delicious scones and jam ! Great safe hideaway from Covid . Give it a try in this mad busy world

Jopes Lodge

We have just returned for a fabulous week at Jopes Lodge and didn't want to leave. Where to start........

The lodge is open planned and has everything needed for a self catering holiday including a washer dryer - lets be honest who wants to return home after a relaxing week to do washing/ironing.

Set in a beautiful wooded valley with the river seaton babbling in front provides such a relaxing atmosphere after a hard day out.

Located just outside (10 minute drive) from Liskeard the Lodge is ideally located for driving (A38 just a stone throw away) or getting the train from Liskeard to other places (Looe, Newquay etc).

The lodge has fan heaters both on the veranda and inside the lodge and a log burner, which has a ready supply of kindling and wood as supplied by Nick. The latter providing a very romantic setting and sufficient heat

The grounds are extensive and beautiful and at the time of departure Nick and Sally were busy harvesting their apple crop.

Due to the location there is no TV signal however Nick and Sally have covered this with a smart TV which has Netflix and other apps included. You can also connect to your catch up TV (ITV hub etc ) if you have an account or Sky Go

The local pub is a 30 minute walk down the lane but ensure you take a torch if returning at night - there are no lights and the road is used by both motorbikes and cars.

In all honesty we could not find fault with our stay - give it a try - you will not be disappointed

Thank you Nick and Sally for the wonderful stay at Jopes. It worked brilliantly with our extended family staying in both the Lodge and the Mill, and found the Lodge's verandah a perfect place for al fresco meals. You have thought of everything we could have needed ( even down to the pastry brush which was put to good use!) , and the level of comfort and luxury was superb. We enjoyed exploring and relaxing in your beautiful grounds, the river being a constant source of fascination.Notable excursions were visits to Talland Bay, with a walk along the coast path to Polperro, Charlestown, for those Poldark fans among us, where a number of majestic tall ships are kept, a rather wet, but atmospheric walk on Bodmin, and a visit to Looe by train. We can thoroughly recommend the Himalayan Spice Restaurant in Liskeard, The Catch for Fish and Chips in Looe, and of course the best Cornish Cream Tea with Sally's amazing scones in Cornwall!!Thanks once again for letting us stay - we can't wait to come back.John and Katharine P

Enjoyed such a peaceful week staying in Jopes Lodge - the setting by the stream is idyllic with beautiful grounds to explore, whilst the accommodation is warm, cosy and very comfortable.
So much to do in the area, we enjoyed wandering on Bodmin Moor and the spectacular coast road. Nick and Sally are great hosts, always happy to help and have created a fantastic holiday home from home.
We will be back!
