A charming stone built barn conversion in Grasmere Lake District, Cumbria.

This two bedroom self catering holiday cottage is set in a courtyard and offers weekly lets throughout the year plus out of season short breaks, is also offers a parking space for one car.

Built in local stone with beamed ceilings to part, the self catering holiday cottage was converted in 1989 from the barn used originally by the village baker for storing flour and stabling his horse and cart in Grasmere.

The self catering holiday cottage sleeps four (two double beds) and has full central heating plus double glazing. It offers an attractive lounge with views of the fells, well fitted open plan kitchen comprising gas hob/electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, digital colour TV, DVD, CD player & WIFI.

Outside there is a sunny courtyard with picnic table and chairs and parking for one small car, please note the access is narrow,however do we supply a free parking pass for the near by car park.

Linen is provided including hand and bath towels.
All gas/electricity charges are included

Nice Cottage In The Heart Of The Lakes

The Holiday Cottage is cosy and well equipped,is quiet thus guaranteeing a good nights sleep.Has a pleasant yard to sit in and a pub with good food less than a stones throw away.The stairs are fairly steep but the bedrooms being down stairs and the kitchen/ sitting room upstairs means no heavy bags to carry up stairs.Owner provides free car park pass as access is tight to the parking space unless it’s a small car.There’s a mass of information and maps in the Holiday Cottage that really helped planning our days.The owner is very helpful if help is needed.Cottage is in a quiet corner of Grasmere - an attractive,much visited,but not to touristy village.There’s plenty to do in and around Grasmere and the numerous attractions of the Lake District can be reached easily.

Excellent

The Stone Holiday Cottage in Grasmere was just wonderful.To come back to it after a day on the Fells came truly to feel like coming home.We were blessed with superb weather,but even in more usual Cumbrian rain,I’m sure that it would have been equally or even more inviting and cozy.The heating system is very efficient and easy to use,and Tony has stocked the Holiday Cottage with lots of information about walks,etc.
We hope to come again soon.

Great Cottage, Great Location.

This Holiday Cottage is in a great location, nice and clean with all the facilities you'd need for a comfortable stay. Everything was in a good condition and working order. Grasmere is a great village for exploring the lakes with plenty of places to eat and drink. Would recommend staying here and would definitely consider staying again

Lovely Cottage In The Centre Of Small Village Of Grasmere, Warm, Comfortable And Well Equipped

The Holiday Cottage was well located as we were able to do 3 different walks from the cottage. We also drove to Keswick (20 mins) to do one walk and Ambleside (10 mins) to do another walk. Grasmere itself is very small but has pub, tearooms, Gingerbread Shop and Co-Op which are all from 2 to 5 minutes walk from the cottage. The Holiday Cottage is lovely with comfortable beds, large bathroom, well equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting area with lovely views from the windows. The only issue is the parking as the driveway to the parking space is very narrow and only small cars will get in and out. However there is a carpark permit provided for the public carpark which is a 2 minute walk away which is also valid in other places such as Ambleside. We had a very nice time and would like to return some day.

Brilliant Location, Lovely Cottage

This upside down Holiday Cottage means lovely cool bedrooms in the summer and a light and cosy upstairs lounge/kitchen. The courtyard is ideal for both evening drinks and for breakfasts in the sunshine when it happens. Everything we needed for day to day functioning was available. The bus services locally meant we could leave the car behind in the (small with tight access) parking space by the Holiday Cottage even when we went walking or sightseeing in areas away from Grasmere. Lots of choices locally for food and drink made things easy, and a small Co-op was useful for milk and so on, especially as it opened late into the evening. Definitely will consider returning!

Lovely central position for the village and a good starting point for walking . Holiday Cottage was clean tidy and well equipped again ideal as a base ... booking this Holiday Cottage was easy and the owner Tony was very helpful as this was our first time using Owners Direct

Dream Cottage

This was our third or fourth visit and we loved it just as much. the Holiday Cottage is in the centre of Grasmere but tucked away in a courtyard so not at all noisy. Everything is just a few minutes walk away including the bus stop with regular buses to Keswick & Windermere. On a very rainy day when we expected rain all day we headed East to the dry Eden Valley and enjoyed riding on the Settle to Carlisle railway:- fabulous views, tunnels and viaducts. We always enjoy a meal at Sara's Bistro in Grasmere and a long visit to National Trust's Grasmere Allan Bank, where we can sit and relax, read papers, books and make our own tea/coffee for free. Delightful.

Wonderful Stay

We felt at home immediately. Lovely stone Holiday Cottage bang in the middle of Grasmere. It was spotless. Everything you could possibly need was provided. The living area and kitchen were light and spacious and a roof window enhanced this impression. The two double bedrooms and large bathroom are downstairs and are separated from the entrance hall by another door; providing total privacy to this area. The Holiday Cottage was really cosy and we are already planning our next visit. Tony and Pearl were really good communicators and very helpful. Can't wait to return.
