It has a fantastic and varied coastline stretching from the beautiful sandy beaches of Bournemouth, Studland and Swanage. Travelling ever westwards you reach the start of the 95 mile long Jurassic coast with its small picturesque coves such as Lulworth Cove and the dramatic Durdle Door. Passing further along the coast to the Olympic sailing venue of Weymouth and Portland you reach the Chesil beach which was famous for its smugglers in the past. The dramatic cliffs of west Dorset continue on into Lyme Regis Bay.
