Description

Set on a clifftop overlooking Corbière lighthouse on Jersey’s south-west tip, the Radio Tower provides stunning self-catering accommodation over six floors and boasts a jaw-dropping 360-degree view from the lounge. Built during the Second World War by German Occupying Forces, the Tower has been sympathetically restored in a German modernist style.

A concrete staircase winds through the centre of the building, up six floors, to a wooden spiral staircase that takes you to the top floor. Authentic features include observation slots on the seaward side and steel doors on the ground floor. The second, third and fourth floors house three identical double bedrooms, each customised within the rounded walls of the Tower with fitted wardrobes and their own adjacent shower room and WC. The kitchen, with an additional WC, occupies the fifth floor and is fitted with modern appliances.

Please be aware that the Tower has a number of stairs and a narrow spiral staircase at the top to access the living area and the best views.

A fabulous location and a great place to stay - we had the best long weekend at the Tower and cant recommend it highly enough

Thoroughly enjoyable stay!

By Lesley on 04-Nov-2025

Stayed at the Radio Tower with family and friends during October. What a unique and enjoyable experience. Views from the top are breathtaking and the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen were fully equipped with everything needed. There was also a number of board games for the kids which was a lovely extra touch. We were lucky to experience one sunny day and one stormy day where the views and feel was spectacular. Stairs are not for the faint hearted (kids counted 77 from the bottom to the top!) but we felt well exercised by the end! Kids needed no further entertainment than the joy of exploring all the different rooms. Note there are 2 skylights at the top which can be opened if it gets too warm (we needed these on our first day as the room naturally heats up quickly in the sun). Highly recommend stay at this unique site! Thank you!

Girls’ getaway with a view - unforgettable stay in the tower

By Mandy on 23-Feb-2026

Our recent two-night stay at the Radio Tower was absolutely brilliant. I stayed with my girlfriends and we were completely blown away from the moment we arrived. The layout is incredible - one bedroom per floor, each with its own bathroom - so we all had our own private space (and essentially our own floor!), which made the stay feel both luxurious and unique. The views are truly out of this world - waking up to them was a highlight in itself. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, and the whole experience felt special from start to finish. It’s rare to find somewhere that’s this special yet still so comfortable. You do need to be reasonably fit because of the many stairs, but that’s part of what makes staying in such a historic tower so memorable. Being able to sleep in a place with such fascinating history and character is something we won’t forget. We loved it so much that we’re already planning to make it a yearly tradition. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique, unforgettable stay in Jersey. And we didn't even need to get on a plane.

A wonderful stay

We had a fantastic experience in this very scenic and historical setting. Comprehensive instructions were sent well ahead of our stay so we knew what to expect. On arrival, we parked directly outside and on accessing the tower, we found it to be very clean and tidy as well as being comprehensively equipped, with plenty of cutlery, crockery, glasses and some essential provisions provided. Having a fridge in both the kitchen (on the the 5th floor) and in the lounge (on the 6th floor) was a nice touch and eliminated the need to traipse up and the down the spiral staircase for that mandatory apéritif to accompany the spectacular sunset over the La Corbière Lighthouse. Considering the military history on what started out as a rough and ready concrete construction over 80 years ago, the conversion into comfortable and cosy accommodation for up to six guests is nothing short of ingenious. The available space is very well utilised, culminating in the top floor lounge with spectacular 360 degree views. We stayed for 3 nights and on one evening, we were subjected to driving rain and gale force winds, so by being in such a solidly built building, we felt totally safe and secure whilst witnessing what Mother Nature was throwing at us in spectualr fashion. There is a good quality restaurant less than 100 metres away, as is the bus stop with a very regular bus service. Access to the coastal paths and the disused La Corbière railway line are nearby. This has to be one of the most unusual and spectacular places we have ever stayed, and we would have no reservation in visiting again or recommending it to others.

Fantastic family staycation

By Guest from St Ouen on 21-Apr-2026

We decided to have a staycation this Easter due to 2 of our children doing exams and picked the radio tower for the sunsets and unusual accommodation. We weren’t disappointed and had a fantastic family break, beautiful weather and sunsets and some lovely cliff walks. The accommodation provided everything we needed for a long weekend and was extremely comfortable. We would highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike!
