Overview
Description
Close to St Catherine’s Woods, the impressive stretch of St Catherine’s Breakwater and secluded beaches, the historic Archirondel Tower is a perfect coastal base for exploring Jersey. Built on a rocky outcrop in St Catherine’s Bay in 1792, the Tower was originally a garrison for artillery soldiers. It has been recently refurbished to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children.Split over four levels, with a large terrace at ground level and a roof terrace overlooking the beautiful bay of Archirondel, the Tower is ideal for those looking for adventures, with the sea on your doorstep.
Inside the Tower, the ground floor comprises a beautiful vaulted-ceiling kitchen and dining area with a dining table. A very narrow spiral staircase takes you up to a sleeping area (which can also be accessed using external metal stairs) with one double bed and two small single sofas.
The staircase then continues up to the cosy living space with a log-burning stove for cosy evenings. The roof terrace, accessed from the living space, has sweeping, uninterrupted views across the bay.
If you enjoy water sports the eastern coast of Jersey has many secluded bays to explore. There is also a cafe 100 yards away from the Tower, perfect for early morning refuelling before you go on your next adventure around the Island.

Best staycation EVER
By Nicola on 31-Jan-2026Great friendly staff to help you with the booking and so straight forward to collect the key and start what was an incredible memory making experience from start to finish. 4 wonderful days at Archirondel tower, incredible high tides, high standards throughout the tower and high energy from my children who loved every second. A truly wonderful place to stay and some northern lights thrown in for good measure ! We will be back again.
A perfect stay
By Nicky on 18-Apr-2026Our own 'castle' for 2 nights was just absolutely perfect. Every second just felt magical, the most special setting and everything you need to make it feel like home. We were so lucky with the weather, but would have been happy to cope with the log burner had that not been the case! Would absolutely love to stay again. Mosey down to the Driftwood cafe for an immaculate breakfast or lunch, head back for a chill on the balcony chairs and hunt endlessly (and aimlessly) for dolphins - bliss.
Enjoyable winter stay
By Sandra on 10-Jan-2026We enjoyed a three night winter stay in this property. Small and characteristic, the tower has been cleverly kitted out. A few board games available, tv in top floor living. Easy to use kitchen with ample table space for 4. Sea close by for winter swims, lovely hot shower downstairs.
Towers above expectations
By James on 14-Mar-2026We love Archirondel! If like us, you enjoy the rawness of Jersey’s abundant natural environment, yellow sun rises, pink sunsets, grey clouds, blue skies and sound of the waves, the wind in your hair and sea birds like Oyster Catchers calling, this is for you too. Spotlessly clean, warm and cosy, historically interesting and as close to the sea as it can be. You do need good knees for the narrow staircases and a car is helpful. Lovely welcome pack of Jersey milk, butter and fresh loaf. Thank you JHT, a betot J&C
What a treat
By Felicity on 15-Mar-2026I highly recommend Archirondel Tower: cosy, comfortable and extremely well equipped. It is a quirky design on 3 floors (plus access to the roof for stunning views), which has been beautifully and sensitivlely renovated to give a luxurious feel whilst maintaining the history of the structure. I loved the door that opens from the bedroom giving you a view of the beach from your bed! Perfect for enjoying your morning cuppa. There is a balcony too if you are lucky enough to have some sunshine during your stay. We were only there for 2 nights, but came away feeling refreshed and relaxed. It’s location right next to the bay is perfect. Watching the ever changing skies and sea having the waves lapping on the rocks below is a truly magical experience. Also lots of lovely walks from the doorstep.
