At Simply Owners, we believe everyone deserves a memorable holiday, whatever their needs. Because you book directly with the property owner, you have the freedom to ask detailed questions before you travel, so you know exactly what to expect when you arrive. This direct line of communication is one of the biggest advantages of booking with us, and it makes all the difference for guests with accessibility requirements.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Many of our properties are suitable for wheelchair users, but accessibility can vary widely from one home to another. Before booking, you can ask the owner about step-free access, doorway widths, bathroom layouts, and the availability of accessible parking. Owners know their properties inside out and can often send extra photos or measurements to help you plan your stay with confidence.

Autism/Neurodivergence

A holiday home can offer a calmer, more predictable environment than a hotel, with fewer crowds, no shared corridors, and the ability to settle into your own routine. Speaking with the owner beforehand lets you find out about noise levels, nearby amenities, and the general layout of the property and surrounding area, so there are no surprises when you arrive.

Hearing Difficulties

If you or someone in your group is deaf or hard of hearing, you can ask owners about visual doorbells, alarm systems, or any other features that might help. Owners are also usually happy to communicate by text or email throughout your stay, so you always have a clear, written way to get in touch if you need anything.

Sight Loss

Guests with sight loss can ask owners for detailed descriptions of the property layout, lighting, and any potential trip hazards before booking. Many owners are glad to talk through the route from the car park or entrance to the property, and to flag anything unusual, such as steps or uneven ground, so you feel prepared before you arrive.

Dementia

Familiarity and routine matter for guests living with dementia, and a self-contained holiday home can offer far more stability than a hotel. You can ask the owner about the property layout in advance, request information about quiet times in the local area, and find out whether there is easy access to outdoor space. Owners are often able to share local recommendations that suit a slower, more relaxed pace.

I have limited mobility, do you have properties that would be suitable?

Of course. Many of our owners cater for guests with limited mobility by describing the parking as close by, the property containing a ground floor bedroom and the bathroom being suitable for your needs. Feel free to reach out before you visit if you are unsure.

Why is Simply Owners direct contact model so good for guests with access needs?

Whatever your needs, we'd always encourage you to message the owner directly before booking. They know their property better than anyone and are usually happy to answer questions, share extra photos, or point out anything that might be useful for your stay.
